A Path to Christ

Approaching Christ Through a Sacred Diet

The Act Of Mercy

A Prayer for Guidance

"Dear Jesus, guide my hands and my heart as I choose what to put on my table. Help me to nourish my body in a way that honors Your creation and brings me closer to Your peace. Amen."

Christ with Lamb - Sacred Compassion

The Act Of Mercy

While we acknowledge that after the Great Flood, God permitted the eating of meat as a concession to human weakness (Genesis 9:3), we believe Christ calls us to a higher path. To follow Jesus is to move away from the "permission" of the fallen world and return to the original peace of the First Garden (Genesis 1:29).

Healing the Heart

Choosing a sacred, plant-based diet helps heal the "cognitive dissonance" that many of us feel. It is difficult to pray for God's mercy while participating in the unnecessary suffering of His creatures. When we remove violence from our plates, we open our hearts to a deeper, more authentic relationship with Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Your Body as a Temple

The Apostle Paul teaches us that our bodies are "temples of the Holy Spirit" (1 Corinthians 6:19). By nourishing ourselves with the clean, life-giving foods of the earth—grains, fruits, and vegetables—we honor the Father and maintain a clarity of spirit that brings us closer to the Lord.

Practical Steps to a Sacred Meal

Transitioning to a sacred diet is a joyful pilgrimage. You do not have to do it all at once; simply begin by choosing mercy at your next meal:

The Blessing of Plants

Rediscover the Blessing of Meals using foods that required no blood to be shed.

Simple Swaps

Replace meat and dairy with the hearty grains, beans, and greens that fueled the Desert Fathers and early monastics.

A Fast of Compassion

View your diet as a "perpetual fast" of love, mirroring the Apostolic Tradition of abstinence from all animal flesh.
